Photoshop Tut #1- Dusty

Note: Choose a high-quality photo. The better the clarity, the easier it will be to edit the photo. You will also have a lot more options as well as a better result. It does not necessarily have to be B&W. It could be colorful, and you can experiment with different textures. I just preferred it black and white.

Photo Journal July 25-August 6th

I've had some photos that I 'shopped here and there as well as some older ones that I decided to share. These are simply for the enjoyment of scrapbook/photo journal type stuff. I am way too lazy to print them out. (+ I needed to update my blog. Seriously, I am slackin'. Sorry lovelies!)

5 Things I Can't Wait To Participate In-And You Can Too! + More Links

One of my biggest "goals" this summer was to become more adventurous. I am that friend that likes to sit around on a field of grass while the rest of my friends play volleyball. I'm mellow and calm but I do want to become more "outdoorsy" simply because I know the benefits of it-stress relief, exercise, getting out of my comfort zone, etc. As I started looking into new, fun things to part-take, I discovered TONS of great activities that I unfortunately missed out on since they are mostly in the beginning of June or July (in my town. Each activity is different for each city! It may not be too late for you!) Each activity is done in many-many cities across America, (and some are even international) in which case I strongly recommend checking out their websites and reserving a spot for you! So, without further adieu-my personal list of 5 things I want to do next year. (NOTE: This list is subject to change and addition. These are the activities I discovered this summer, and I'm sure there will be tons more that I will stumble on. Hence, there may be a part deux.)

1. The Spartan Race I USA, UK, Canada, Slovakia (Australia, Mexico coming soon.)

Happy Saturday! While I will be watching, re-watching, memorizing line for line my favorite episodes of Girlfriends, I thought you could use some fun from around the world. Or simply the internet. Let's go!

Lesson

I really messed up. I've hurt a person who deserved to be loved instead and I've spent a year trying to fix it. (It's actually even more than a year. But who's counting?) In reality, I know that I have made a crucial mistake and that is immoral and has left a lasting impression on both that person and myself.

Though I have apologized profusely, there seems to be no middle path he and I can take. He is upset. I am upset, and pride gets in the way. It has been a year since we really spoke and when we met up to simply resolve any bruised feelings left, it was a really heavy encounter.

It served as a lesson to me: I can only beat myself up for so long before I stop and focus on me. That sounds selfish, but every person has his or her extent that she or he can go. (I'm not even saying 'willing'. 'Can' is much more powerful.) I was willing to go forever, but I could only wallow for so long. A whole-hearted apology, (or 3 in my case), a polite conversation, and full surrender of openly and strongly expressing my mind later I understood that the best I can do with my life is move on.

I know, this has been the most ambiguous post I've ever made, but it should serve less of a story and more of a lesson. I as a person will make mistakes. I have. The best I can do, is to fix them to the best of my ability, going out of my way even. However, after some time (or a lot of it), I must succumb to the reality that some things cannot be changed. It's best to simply learn from my mistakes rather than dwell on them.

Love yourself. Learn from your mistakes. Move on.

Photo Journal- July 5th

My friend and I decided to be adorable and cook together. We are no master chefs though, so the food was simple and to the point-steak (covered with the most expensive spices called Le Salt and Le Pepper. Rare stuff.), garlic bread, cooked vegetables, and pasta. This dinner is also called "I know how to make pasta and just add some meat to it" dish. Next feat of our culinary skills? Ramen noodles.

Photo Journal- July 1st

So, this week was interesting. I got a new job, and I am now a professional, $9.25 an hour, adult working girl. If that sounds like something out of an "adult finder" ad, I apologize. That was not supposed to take such a drastic turn. I've also been super busy with catching up on sleep. I've noticed that most of my photos include food. (Ill work on that) I will do a makeup video this week for you guys, but now I am absolutely exhausted. Beach  tomorrow!
I miss my orange hair :/

7 Things: Favorites, Websites and All Things Fabulous From the Web

I've been busy for the past several weeks simply sitting on my little mustardy sofa, watching all the episodes of Dexter. Oh the shame! (It's actually a superb show. Do check it out soon!) However, I have come across some interesting things that caught my eye. Let's begin!

5 Things I Learned on Week 1

1. I must literally work my a** off.
With hot weather come frequent visits to the beach. With those, comes the satisfaction of girls running around in small pieces of fabric with cameras flashing everywhere. I saw my photos. Didn't like them. At all. I resumed my membership at the gym and started to pay much more attention to cardio. Before, I would ignore it mostly since I'm not crazy about the idea of huffing, puffing, sweating, and jogging for 20 minutes straight as well as having my face radiate heat equating to nothing less than solar power itself. Did I mention I turn beat red? Yeah , you try flirting with hot guys at the gym when your face resembles the inside of a grapefruit. But back to cardio- I'm bad at it. Fortunately, after the first week and a couple miles on the elliptical, along with some sick beats and a good boxing match on ESPN, I managed to actually run a mile on a treadmill. (Inner applause). I now record my data down and have run 6 miles total this week. (More than  I ever have...or wanted to.) I found several home workout websites, videos and  helpful sources such as:

10:00 am Visit to the Park

The "what am I doing here in this weather" face

I decided to go to the park. Sure, it was 10  in the morning, and raining, and the park looked eerie but it was honestly a really great experience. I had some G-Eazy blasting the entire time on my iPod as well as other Hip-Hop mixed in with retro, vintage beats.

3 things

I am starting a new blog "playlist" of all the interesting and fun things I find online. I constantly find amazing, useful, entertaining, or just boredom-destroying tools that I wish the entire world knew more about. I do need a cool name for that though, so if you have any names other than "Cool Stuff I Found Online", feel free to leave a comment. So, without further adeue, let's go!

1. I am in love. Seriously. I have never seen such beautiful photography before. What makes these landscapes special is that they make me want to get into photography (much more in depth than just shooting a couple shots of drunk college kids haha) Please, show this man some love! I am still alive! (If anyone cares)

Obviously, there is no such thing as "Too Adult for Ice Cream"
Hello lovelies,
Yes. It is 12:54. And yes, I didn't update this wonderful blog in like 3 months but hey, separation makes the heart grow fonder. Oh, my micro-economics final is tomorrow. Swell! Am I prepared? Absolutel not! Am I totally inspired right now to make a bunch of amazing posts? Hell yes! I do promise to make new videos soon and put up lots of photos weekly and great songs to download and useful blog posts. Much love.

I know it has been a while but I have been up to ...college. Fun! And by fun, I mean hell. It is also midterms week so after this I have spring break. I can record a lot more awesome footage and hopefully change up the vloggin situation that's going on on my channel right now. Anyway, I would love to hear your thoughts on the video!

01/20/2012- Photo Per Day- The view from the above

So today I took a little detour and got into the actual city rather than the highways. There were a couple interesting photos, and I wish I could have taken more, but given the fact that I was inside a moving car, I couldn't :( Still, I hope you enjoy!
Coolest. Bike Post. Ever.
Welcome to the view from my crib. Sikkke. (I totally wish)
These are so off beat! Arggh! I'm trying to be more organized and post more regularly, but I do only when I've got some time. This week was the first one of classes, so it was hectic!

01/19/2012-Photo Per Day [Week? I don't even know...] The wind is destroying every chance of me getting a boyfriend!

The wind is destroying any chances of me getting a boyfriend. Also, it was freezing.

I should really work on the reflections.

This is where all the magic happens. And by magic I mean mess
This is how I spend most of my time...
Hey all! Well, it has been a long week and I feel like I gave up on the "365 photos" project. Now it's more of a "Oh look, something I find interesting" project. So, that's that. My prediction came true; I suck at sticking to things. Still, this is an enjoyable hobby-taking random photos of my life.
Anyway, enjoy wintertime while it lasts!

01/12/2012-Photo Per Day

The weather was, fascinating outside. It was misty, but dry and the fog was enchanting. If I lived closer to a city, I would have been probably just standing outside on some hill and starring at it.
Other than that, I've been noticing that I don't do very much with my life...so, cheers!

01/10/2012-Photo Per Day #4

Making myself laugh cause I'm so hillarious.
Friend came over. Made me food cause I'm a terrible cook. Pasta and chicken!
I recorded 3 different videos today, two of them are makeup looks. This is the first one. Woot. I will edit all of them tonight most likely, and post them soon. I feel like I'm being quite productive lately.
My journey to having more interesting photos is continuing at a speed of a turtle.

01/09/2012 Photo Per Day- #3

I was shooting a vlog. So...boredom got to me.
Le face de la fatass.
I'm not quite sure why this "Photo per day" life diary type thing is turning into "What did K eat today?" gallery. My attempt to make more interesting daily photos has failed, again. Tomorrow is a whole new day lovelies!
I am in the process of editing a new video, which is lots of fun, but is also deadly since I have to compress 11 minutes of recordings into less than 3. Yay.
I STILL CAN'T POST TRACKS :/

01/06/2012-Photo-Per-Day #2

Well it's a good thing my New Year's resolution was not "lose weight".
Well then. I believe I called it on myself when I thought "This thing won't be consistent". Well, I missed two days! (Arggh.) However, I do have a reason. I was celebrating Ukrainian Christmas with the family, and I couldn't detach myself to edit and upload photos. But then again, I was trying not to make excuses this year.
I would post more photos, but they are pretty much conceited looking "pics" that belong on facebook. I am trying to make them more interesting! (Hahaha, failcake)
And because I'm such an utter failure of a photographer, here are some amazing "futuristic photographs" via wall to watch.

Ladies, you are beautiful. And lovely. And don’t you let no guy tell you that ain’t true! (All grammar is destroyed.)

01/06/2012-Photo Per Day #1

Just one of those fantastically lit mornings.

Clearly, my mornings are not really that glamorous.

We cannot all be perfect, can we?

Le friends.

Wise words of the day:

"It's annoying when fat people say that obesity runs in their family. Let's get real..clearly nothing runs in your family."

Today is an overachiever day for me. I've got FOUR pictures Ha HA! (This will only happen so often). Soon I will become lazy, tired, obese, wait what?

Not too long ago, MTV announced 11 Artists to Watch in the Year 2012. I clearly agree with their nomination for Fun. and Avicii. I haven't heard of a lot of other artists, but MTV made it one step easier-several videos from each artist are posted on the bottom of the post. I strongly suggest you take a look; maybe you will find a new favorite artist?
